Can a pinch-hitter be MVP?

Matt Moore
Lots of strikeouts in the minors, but also lots of walks.

The strikeouts show obvious talent. A talented young pitcher is a strong weapon in the playoffs, because batters will be more aggressive against someone they haven't seen. Since he is difficult to hit and often misses the zone, this plays right into his hands.

It's quite possible he will have a stellar postseason. Expectations will be high next year. But success will not continue. The walks will catch up to him. He'll make it (barring injury), but it will be difficult.
