some years he has more home runs than strikeouts. like 1941. 1941, when he batted .406 and didn't win the mvp. in 1942 he won the triple crown and didn't win the mvp. then, in 1947, he won the triple crown and didn't win the mvp. he did win 2 mvp's, in 1946 and 1949, but he should have won seven, at least. maybe eight.

look at 1955. how do you make contact 92.6 percent of the time and have a .173 pow? ok, only 324 aab. but look at 1957: .227 .898 .177. are you kidding me? but let's look at his really good year. that would be 1941. the magical 1941. .245 wal .941 con .170 pow. this paragraph is mostly numbers. a picture is worth a thousand words. i'm trying to think of something meaningful to say but failing. a complete master. he was a complete master at everything he did. flying, hitting, and fishing, at least. this is the site where we talk about hitting. to walk .245 and contact .941 . . . how do you do that? and pow .170. i mean i guess you gotta have that kind of pow to make the pitchers scared enough to throw enough balls that you walk 24.5 percent of the time even though you make contact 94.1 percent of the time. as you can see, i'm ramblin. here's to you, kid.
