everybody's an expert
from rotoworld.com:
Manager Jerry Manuel said he would like to see Frank Thomas back off his statement of last month that he would try to hit more home runs.
''I would rather him become an RBI machine and a basehit guy and a doubles guy and a guy with a high on-base percentage,'' Manuel said. Thomas has 28 homers, his total from all of last year, but his .260 average is about 20-30 points lower than his manager would like to see it. Manuel is of course correct, and it might be time to blame Thomas' focus, rather than whether he plays DH or first base, when the Big Hurt slumps.
here's an idea: let's all shut up about what frank thomas should and shouldn't do. frank is just fine.
