i've discovered the perfect way to watch baseball. it was inspired by tim mccarver. keep it muted until the pitcher is about to throw. then unmute and hear the crack of the bat the pop of the glove the roar of the crowd then . . . when the ball is dead hit the mute button (i call it the tim mccarver button.) also works on steve stone, jeff brantley, or any other person paid to annoy you while you try to enjoy something beautiful.
